What exercise involves deadlifting in the squat rack with the safety bars up near the hips?


I saw two people doing that today and I almost started raging because I wanted to deadlift and all I kept hearing was CLANG each time the barbell hit the safety bars.

They weren't doing shrugs either.

Now i am fully aware that they -might- have needed help. But i have switched up those benches so many times at the gym, And they are if anything way to easy to move.

And i also am fully aware that a pumped up guy mgiht be kinda intimidating but if they cant handle that part then i am sorry to say that the rest of me would be like a humble joy ride to hell. I am complicated. i have some serious issues that leak REALLY easy. Thats why i never confront girls whom i know wouldnt be able to handle the stuff.
