Let's do this. Hope you enjoy.

The Doctor, Amy and Rory were on their way to their next destination in space and time, known only to the newlyweds as an “incredibly exciting time”. After their speculation was met with no clues from the Doctor, they eventually gave up and started milling around aimlessly. Rory was helping the doctor tidy up around the TARDIS, cluttered piles of tubing, pipes, and other parts were dotted around the control room, while Amy looked out of the open door of the TARDIS, gazing deep in to the timestream. The Doctor shouted across fro the opposite balcony,
“Pond, don’t lean too far out, if you fall out of the timestream who knows where you’ll end up. The TARDIS is meant to deposit you at the last place visited if you fall out, but I wouldn’t trust it myself, never held much trust in the automatic rubbish.”
Amy rolled her eyes, irritated at still being treated like a child who’d put their hand on a stove to see if it was really as hot as their parents said. Nevertheless, the awe-inspiring view outside of the TARDIS doorway chased away any negative thought, as the bright, winding hues of never-before-seen colours flew across her vision like a horizontal waterfall. However, right on the cusp of her vision, a single point of darkness grew steadily, and as she tried to focus on it, it seemed to shy away for a moment, before it came in to view as a tall, humanoid figure, dark and slender.
>> Anonymous 04/05/11(Tue)06:17 No.7373366
Still miles away, it seemed, but Amy knew that physics and the time stream were not “on speaking terms”, as the Doctor put it, and that something that seemed distant could all-too-soon be right on the TARDIS’ doorstep. The distorted shape seemed to be wandering aimlessly, but as the TARDIS travelled further along the timestream, the dark shape slowed to a stop, like it had noticed something.
Amy suddenly felt a cold shiver run down her back, and right on the edge of hearing, she could hear the faint but unmistakeable sound of a child’s laughter. Usually an innocent, heart-warming sound, but this distorted, grating cackle filled her head with pain, and fear.

The inky black figure started growing in size, rapidly.

It was heading for the TARDIS.
>> Anonymous 04/05/11(Tue)06:18 No.7373367
Amy let out a small whimper, and slammed the TARDIS door shut. She ran to the other end of the control room, crouching behind the TARDIS’ control panel, her lip quivering. The Doctor and Rory poked their heads out from the open grates in the floor.
“What is it, Amy?” Rory asked, a nervous laugh punctuating his sentence.
“I saw something, Doctor, outside. It saw me, and it’s heading to us.”
“Don’t be preposterous, Pond,” the Doctor smirked. “Nothing can possibly survive in the timestream for more than a few seconds! Look, okay, don’t give me that look; I’ll go see myself, shall I?”
The Doctor climbed up on to the walkway, and strode to the door. He looked back and winked at Amy and Rory, before dramatically swinging the door open, and standing to the side.
“See, Amy, there’s really nothing to worry abo-“
The Doctor was cut off by high pitched scream. He looked at Amy, but was surprised to see that her mouth was firmly pursed shut, but her face was even paler than usual. She looked down at Rory, the source of the outlandish squeal, but didn’t seem entertained. Her expression seemed to agree completely with Rory’s outburst. The Doctor looked puzzled, and as he went to turn his head, the TARDIS door slammed shut, wrenching itself from his grasp, and the lights in the time machine turning deep red. The TARDIS had locked itself down.
>> Anonymous 04/05/11(Tue)06:18 No.7373370
The Doctor tried to open the door, placing his foot on the wall, and hauling with all his strength, and it didn’t budge. He turned to the newlyweds, both pale as a ghost and clutching each other’s hands tightly. He ran over to them, and stood right in front of them, his expression turned to that of serious alarm.
“What did you see, Rory? Amy? The TARDIS only goes in to lockdown when something that should not exist in this dimension tries to get inside. This would not be that worrying if not for the fact that we are in the timestream and that pretty much anything can exist here in potentia. So whatever is out there has no reason to be. Tell me, what did you see..?”
Amy’s mouth trembled for a moment, before finally opening to speak.
“I… I don’t know, Doctor. It looked like a head, just a human head, poking out from the side of the doorway. But there was no face, no hair, nothing. It tried to reach inside, it had massive, long fingers, like a spider, I, I…” she stammered.
“It felt like it was smiling, Doctor.” Rory managed to pluck up the courage to talk. “It had no expression where it face should be, but it felt like it was smiling. And the laughter, Doctor! It nearly made my heart stop right there. It filled my head, and my body, it sounded a little like a child, but it just made me feel sick, it sounded wrong, Doctor… Doctor?” Rory’s voice dwindled out as the Doctor’s expression turned from puzzlement to realisation, a fearful, dreading, realisation.
>> Anonymous 04/05/11(Tue)06:21 No.7373375
“No, no no no no, here? How?” The Doctor looked startled, slightly scared, even. “Right, you two, the thing out there should not be here, or anywhere. By no means should it exist. But it does, and it has for even before the Time Lords. You humans have the Bogeyman, the Chula have Aqaxicoadl, the Raxacoricofallapatorians have The Many Arm, and the Time Lords have…had… it. They are all one and the same. It was around before we were, and we are OLD, and we have no idea what it is or how it exists. All we know is that it is an abductor, a stalker and the most relentless, dogged pursuer of its prey ever recorded. And it’s found us. Brilliant…” The Doctor trailed off, deep in thought.
“Doctor, what do we DO?” Amy urged, confident in the Doctor. He always had a plan.
“We’re screwed, aren’t we? We’re going to get kidnapped by some hideous abomination unto physics, science, and pretty much everything else, and there’s nothing we can do about it because even if we try and run , it’s just latched on to the door!” Rory was exasperated. Some honeymoon this was.
“No, wait, okay, Rory, Amy, wait here, I’ll be back in a minute. If anything else happens, just… stay in here. Make sure it doesn’t get any further in to the TARDIS. I won’t be long…” and with that, the Doctor sped off in to the inner depths of the TARDIS, leaving Amy and Rory to fend for their selves.

“You… you deserter!” Amy called after him, before turning around and watching the door intently.
Some time passed. Rory had picked up one of the heftier metal pipes from his and the Doctors’ clearout, and was holding it like a sword, stood poised just a little in front of Amy, in between her and the door. Amy was sitting on the floor, holding her knees, watching around Rory’s skins for any signs of entry. The dim red light didn’t help matters, while the door was still well lit, everything else had been plunged in to deep red shadow. As she finally started to let her mind wander, she heard it. The deep, twisted chuckle of a child, filling her head with a horrible, disturbing warmth. It would have been endearing if it wasn’t coming from the thing outside, she knew. Rory clearly heard it too, as he took to bashing the pipe against the balustrade around the TARDIS’ control panel, trying to block out the noise. But it wasn’t coming from outside, it was already in their heads. However, in between the ringing of the pipe, Amy heard something else. She slapped Rory in the shin from her seat on the floor, and as he stopped, she became all to aware of the sound of something scratching at old wood.
It was trying to get inside.
>> whotard !ozOtJW9BFA 4/05/11(Tue)06:36 < No.7373407
This is awesome, but I think Amy would be a tiny bit more teasing, even in a scary situation. She always struck me as a bit more no-nonsense, so I can't see her calling him a deserter.
>> Anonymous 04/05/11(Tue)06:37 No.7373409
Amy leapt up, but before she could do anything, Rory pushed her back down, and stood tall, but shaking, holding the pipe aloft.
“I’ll… protect you, Amy” he managed to say. As Amy squeezed his leg in appreciation, she could see around his thigh that something WAS getting in. An extraordinarily, unnaturally thin hand slipped through the crack in the TARDIS door, just above the lock. The hideously long, near skeletal fingers wrapped themselves around the doorframe, as another hand did the same below. The pale, almost translucent skin seemed to glisten in the murky red light of the TARDIS, as though lit up by an unseen source.
Amy nearly broke down then and there when she saw several more knotted, elongated digits slip through cracks around the door, over half a dozen hands had now gripped the door in different places. They flexed simultaneously for a moment, a ghoulish ripple of fingers, before the entire TARDIS shook violently, as the creature outside attempted to wrench the door from its’ hinges. The unnatural laughter grew louder, and Rory shivered noticeably, as though he was standing in a howling blizzard. The TARDIS lurched again, and Amy yelled for the Doctor, but there was no response.
“Where the hell is he?” She asked in vain.
“There isn’t an escape pod in this thing, is there?” Rory questioned.
Before Amy could answer, there was a final jolt, as the door to the TARDIS finally gave, and caved inwards. Splinters of wood and dust flew across the room, but Amy could see in the clouds of debris that the hands had been quickly retracted by long, black arms.
>> Anonymous 04/05/11(Tue)06:38 No.7373413
As the dust cleared, Amy could see the figure properly for the first time. It appeared at first glance to be an incredibly tall, slender figure in a black suit. But there was much more to the fell appearance of this entity as she focused.
The thing was unnaturally tall as it hovered just outside of the TARDIS, at least ten feet high, with a black suit covering its body. But this was not a typical black; it seemed to absorb the light around it inwards, casting the creature in an inexplicable shadow. A white collared shirt was fully buttoned underneath, purer than snow, but far from beautiful. It also had a tie knotted tightly around its neck, which was a deep crimson, almost black, which glistened under the non-existent light that illuminated the figure. The tie reminded Amy for a second of blood that had been split from a slit throat, but there was no wound to the creature, it was merely a trick of the eyes. It was hard to focus on the imposing entity at all, but she felt her gaze drawn to its head. Its sallow, pockmarked skin had no distinguishing features at all, but the expressionless visage filled her mind with the happy, loving expression of a deeply caring relative, or a doting parent, but for all the radiance of bliss it emanated, she could feel the oily taint of its dark motives. It wanted her.

Rory blocked the one-sided eye contact between them, holding the pipe to his side, like a baseball bat, entire body trembling, but holding his ground. Amy felt the faceless smile change to brief confusion and distaste, before projecting the same eerie, relaxed smile was blazed across her mind. One of the encompassing arms of the creature slowly glided forwards, like a large snake looking for prey, it’s arm containing no visible joints, but winding and curving with no seeming end to its length. It reached Rory, and touched him delicately on the arm, like a mother calming her frustrated child, before the branchlike fingers gripped his arm tightly. A crunch filled the room, followed shortly by a loud clatter as he dropped the pipe to the floor, his arm hanging at an unnatural angle. The seemingly fragile grip of the figure has crushed his forearm completely, the latter end dangling conspicuously. All remaining colour drained from Rory’s face as he was lifted bodily by the break, as a child might lift a stuffed toy, and cast to the side of the control room, slamming hard in to the wall. He slumped to the floor without a sound, unmoving. Amy wanted to run over to him, but was locked in place on the floor as the thing shortened its torso and legs considerably, allowing it to step inside the TARDIS.

Amy’s gaze was locked to the creature’s ‘face’ as it extended its arms wide, like a father waiting for his child to run in to them. Amy was flooded with warmth, and care, and unconditional love, and she wanted so badly to run up to it and show it that she loved it too… No! A small, irritating voice in the back of her head known as reason fought back with a vengeance. It directed her gaze for just a second to Rory, little more than a still pile of the ground, before her gaze was forcefully drawn back by the figure’s willpower. She had regained a little control of her limbs, and managed to shuffle herself backwards a little, up against the TARDIS’ controls. The benevolent figure seemed hurt for a moment, its many arms recoiled slightly, before it pulled them all back just a little, and then extended just one solitary arm. As it grew closer, Amy could see that the hem of its ‘sleeve’ was actually fused to the creature’s skin, changing in texture and colour but nonetheless, it was unmistakably all one being.
Its hand was open, the unnaturally long fingers extended towards Amy, like a parent waiting for their child’s hand to cross the street, and Amy fought back every urge to reach out to the impossibly long outstretched arm and take the narrow hand, letting it lead her across the road, to the other side…
She felt her arm drift upwards, her fingers reaching out, she thought for a moment she was being controlled by it, but then she realised she did want to go, it would be so happy there, for some reason she knew this, even without knowing the final destination. Part of her screamed bloody defiance, and she stopped for a moment, but the featureless smile of the slender figure drew her in, promising everything would be alright.
>> Anonymous 04/05/11(Tue)07:08 No.7373505
Just before her fingers touched the tip of the figures’ own digits, its unseeing gaze was drawn up, to the opposite side of the room. The Doctor, perched high on a ledge on the opposite wall, was holding tightly on to one end of a knotted rope, the other end tied high up to the TARDIS’ core. He winked at Amy, whose gaze had also drifted upwards, and letting out a defiant yell, he pushed off from the wall, swinging across the TARDIS control room like a demolition ball. He closed his eyes tight, and stuck his legs forward, clearly not too pleased with his plan, but nevertheless his feet struck the being square in the frail looking chest of the figure.
Caught unawares, the thing was knocked backwards, its body stumbling out through the TARDIS’ doorway. However, as the Doctor whooped in victory, several thin, black arms flew through the doorway and fastened themselves to the doorframe. It began to retract its serpentine limbs, reeling it back in, but as the Doctor swung back around, this time he extended his arm, holding the sonic screwdriver out straight, and activated one of its many functions with a faint whirring. The creatures’ hands started bubbling fiercely, its skin steaming and writhing, and one by one, the hands were forced to let go of the frame. The Doctor jumped down from his dangling rope, and kept the sonic screwdriver fixed on the doorway of the TARDIS. A shrieking, fell scream echoed throughout the TARDIS, a million children crying out in despair and pain, before the last blistered hand released its grip on the TARDIS, and as the Doctor gazed out of the doorway, he watched its arms retract close to its body as it tumbled out of the timestream in to the conventional dimensions.

The shards of the TARDIS started vibrating uncontrollably, and began to zoom back in to place, sealing together with a fluorescent orange glow. As the final chunk of the wooden door flew in to place, the red light flooding the TARDIS dimmed, being replaced once again by the natural lighting. The Doctor, with a solemn look on his face, turned around to face Rory. He raised the sonic screwdriver again.
Amy, who had recovered her senses in the chaos, leapt in front of Rory, shielding him as he had done for her.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?!” She said, forcefully. “You can’t go doing that to him!”
“Amy, it grabbed him, did it not? Broke him arm? I heard the crunch from upstairs; I have to do this, for his sake.” The Doctor said, calmly.
“Why? What did it do to him? What will that do to him?!” Amy pleaded, but the Doctor rolled his eyes, swiftly stepped to the side, aimed in the general direction of Rory, and fired. Rory’s body started twitching uncontrollably, before a scream erupted from him, he writhed on the ground in intense pain, before again becoming deathly still.
>> Anonymous 04/05/11(Tue)07:34 No.7373596
Amy shot a look of fury at the Doctor before rushing over to Rory, turning him on to his back. She shook him hard, tears welling in her eyes, before his eyes cracked open, and breath filled his lungs, his chest heaving. She smothered him, planting kisses across his face and head, arms locked around his neck, and it took some frantic arm motions for her to realise he was suffocating. She pulled back, crying, laughing, relieved that Rory was alive, while he coughed heavily, and cleared his throat. When he spoke, his voice was still cracked and dry.
“What in the hell happened?” Rory managed to say, before having another coughing fit.
“You want to know what happened? Well, after I rather inelegantly swung myself in to the creature, pretty brave of me if I do say so myself, I knocked it back in to the doorframe. Then I used the sonic screwdriver’s repair function to fix the door. Problem solved!” The Doctor looked incredibly pleased with himself.
“Alright then, Doctor,” Amy said, still slightly annoyed at him, “How come you took so long? And why did that thing start burning up?”

“Well,” the Doctor looked slightly less pleased with himself, “I couldn’t find the blasted rope, could I? Why do you think I was tidying up in here, it’s a sty. And the burning, yes, well, the repair function works on both living and non-living matter, but it can’t actually tell the difference between the two. I assumed it would treat the broken door like a wound, and clear out any infections… parasites, et cetera, before healing it up, as it were. Genius, really, if I do say so myself. Usually it would just eradicate the foreign bodies, but obviously it’s a bit harder to work out how to break down a quasi-demonic entity that doesn’t technically exist… at least it did something, eh? Certainly knocked it for six! And it’s effectively vaccinated the TARDIS, too, so the thing won’t be able to hitch a ride again.”
Amy and Rory looked more than pleased to hear this news, but Rory still had a burning question.
“ What did you do to me, Doctor? My arm…” Rory’s train of disjointed thought trailed off as he gingerly patted his once shattered forearm, preparing to wince but grinning as he felt no more pain.
“Like I said, I used the repair function on the door, I used it on you too. Sorry if you thought it was some kind of weapon, Amy…”
“Well next time, explain yourself, BEFORE you do anything that-“ Amy was cut off by Rory.
“Amy, it’s fine, I’m fine now. But, if it was meant to fix me, why did it hurt so much?” He enquired.
“Ah, well,” the Doctor laughed a little, “It’s a sonic screwdriver, not a sonic scalpel. Anyway-“
This time, the Doctor was cut off, by a chirpy little beeping noise coming from the TARDIS console.
>> Anonymous 04/05/11(Tue)07:40 No.7373612
The doctor brushed himself off and turned to amy pond and said,"Open the door, get on the floor, everybody walk the dinosaur!"
>> Anonymous 04/05/11(Tue)07:40 No.7373617
The Doctor looked confused, and ran across to the panel. He looked at the screen, and than all the cheer drained from his face.
“Oh, no… what have I done? I never trusted the automatic system rubbish on this thing!” He ranted to the world in general, Amy and Rory looked bemused.
“What’s wrong, Doctor?” Rory asked.
“The TARDIS, remember what I told you? If someone… thing… falls out of it and out of the timestream, the TARDIS will automatically,” he spat the word, “deposit the person at the last visited destination, for safe and reliable pick up…”
“So what does that mean, Doctor...?” Amy had a look of slowly dawning realisation on her face.
The Doctor buried his face in his hands, before speaking barely above a whisper.
“It means, Amy, that we’ve just sent it to our last location. 21st century Earth. Your village, Amy.”

Hell, why not? It works. That even gives you a title for a sequel. "The Cold who came in from the Rain." Okay, no, that didn't work. Fuck it. I'm out of ideas that don't suck.

Loved it :) it's been archived. Thinking of showing my tutor, she works on the Dr. Who series currently, she'd love it.
