my dear fellow, if I could sing, I would sing to you the song of my many journeys.
But for I cannot sing, let me tell you my tales.
I've been through the vast deserts, the high mountains and the radious cities of the world.
I've seen the world and here is my tale

My journey started from the town where I was born and where I grew up. Curious to the arts of magic and wanting to see the entire world with my very eyes, I left my home and walked down the first road, without knowing where to go, nor where the road headed to.

The road first headed to the others glorious towns of the state. I've been through many of them. so many that I cannot even remember every name. I saw the poorest of the poor and spend some days with them, surprised by their sudden wisdom, far away from the wisdom of the teachers. They taught me how the hidden part of the town was.
I've been with the richest of the rich, who wanted to hear how the world was. They showed me the other hidden part of the town.

Of course, the cities and the town people amazed me, but cities are not the whole world, and the whole world is not a city.
I followed another road. I had no plan, I had no precise direction. I only wanted to travel. I did not want to go somewhere, I wanted to go everywhere. I did not want to see a certain place, but every certain place. I wanted to see everything I could see. This is why I followed the road, unless if the road followed me through my journey?
the road led me to some astonishing lands of magic where the nature and the fantastic energy that lays beyond our comprehension cohabit. In these places, the rules are everchanged. The water flows from the ground to the sky, the clouds fall upon the earth, the rocks falls to the sky and the skies are even more infinite than everywhere else.

The fields of magic were an incredible part of this world, and still today, I cannot really belive what I saw there. I could have stayed my entire life contemplating the wonders of nature and magic, but the road called me as I called it. so, I went to the horizon again. No one could have told what was my next destination.
perhaps the road wanted me to forget about the magic of some lands : the road had led me to the pityless fields of nature, ruled by dust, sand and wind. Here, I learned how valuable my life was. the danger was everywhere, and nowhere to be found. The warmth could have taken my life several times, and so could the cold of the night.
My life was saved by the road, that placed someone on my may. The locals were the only one who were strong enough to live in these cruel lands. The harshness of this place made them as they were. they taught me everything about this place.

I found life on a cruel and lifeless land, but these survivors were not the entire world, and I was still thirsty of discovery. I get back to my friend, the road, who was leading me wherever it wanted.
This time, the road wanted me to face another strengh of nature. I went to the cold mountains, of rock and snow. Once again, living was not an easy task. Every step I took was potentially deadly, and my life depended of the mercy of the road. The road, who almost disappeared in the desert, was the only thing I had. I had to follow the road to reach the top of the mountains. The mountains were hars, cold and deadly, but the road was protecting me, and I could only rely on the road.
The road brang me to the dwelling of lunatics, hermits, scolars who were looking for a quiet place to devote theirselves to their art or study. they taught me how valuable could silence and tranquility be for the one who is searching for a place to rest his soul.

I went back to the road, who was heading to th most mysterious places on the world. which mystery did the road want to show me this time? I didn't know, and it didn't matter. I placed my trust in the road.
I went to the cities of the elders, the deserted towns and temples where some used to live, go, cry, laugh, and die.
these empty places had something I cannot precisely describe. Incredibly strong, able to stay away from the ravages of time, they were pityfull of emptyness. These ancient buildings were an enigma that no one can understand nowadays. what were they meant to? who used to be there? and why? These places asked so many questions, and never gave a single clue to help me finding an answear.

And so, I followed the roads during the many years of my life. On the road, I met the people and the lonelyness. I've seen the living cities of today as well as the living cities of yesterday, knowing that they both shared the same fate.
I've seen the infinite plains and the high mountains.
I've seen the kingdom of sand and dust and stone. I've seen the kingdom of life, gigantig life and small life.
I've been through the desert and the forest, through the crowded places and the empty streets.
I've seen so many place that I cannot even remember what I exactly saw.
But now, the road has gone back to where it started, and so did I.
Now that my life is close to its end, I know that I have seen everything I could have seen.
I've seen many places, I've met many people, and it is now the duty of mine to tell what I saw on the road so that some others go and find the road like I did.
It will be so.
Because the road calls us as we call it.
