Ok so the story so far, Jeff Magnum (yes I know its Mangum but I dont want to get into legal trouble) reads the diary of Anne Frank. He becomes sad, decides to travel back in time to WWII using his homemade time machine. He and his band set to save Anne Frank. They journey through WWII torn Europe and battle some of Hitlers henchman including the King of Carrot Flowers (who is an evil dictator) and the communist daughter. They find out Hitler gets his power from a two headed demon boy that can only be killed by a magic pitchfork. So they journey through semen stained mountaintops to get pitchfork, go to hell, kill the demon, then kill powerless Hitler, and save Anne Frank...........

Thom Yorke helps guide Neutral Milk Hotel to Hitler's secret hideout by showing them a map he obtained from the Nazi's clubhouse. He gets knocked out on the way and he wakes up later sucking on a lemon.

Jeff has voice based attacks. There should be a joke about how poorly he sings, maybe a vocal chords stat that doesn't get better or possible gets worse.
Scott uses trumpets or some horn to attack. He's also very fat now so add a fatness stat to him.
Jeremy uses drums so he's probably more defensive based and maybe add some joke with drums can't play in time.
Julian has the singing saw along with an accordion, maybe a banjo. Make Julian fucking awesome.

All should have a Loving of Jesus Christ stat, which is needed to max out before the end of the game, otherwise the band dies ala Mass Effect style.

In the end, Jeff should be unable to save Anne Frank. He takes his time machine (called Kid A as suggested?) back to 1998, completely broken by his inability to save her.

However, when he emerges in 1998, he is surrounded by hordes of fans. The "final boss" is to survive as long as you can against neverending waves of fans, fending them off with what few songs you've learned on your journey through time.

Eventually Jeff is totally overwhelmed by the countless and rabid fans and has to retreat into obscurity. Forever.

Okay, i'm not OP but i'm trying to get everything together in one package.

Jeff Mangum reads the diary of Anne Frank and becomes very sad. He talks to his band about it and they decide to enlist the help of Thom Yorke in building a time machine. Using scrap parts from a computer that Thom describes as "just OK," they construct Kid B, a synthetic flying machine that looks like >>18205686. The band thanks Thom and they set the time machine to set off for Holland, 1945.

Upon their arrival, Jeff and his bandmates fight their way through hordes of Nazis. Their first objective is to liberate Holland by slaying the King of Carrot Flowers.

After liberating Holland, Jeff finds Anne Frank's home but finds that he is too late- she and her family have already been taken to a concentration camp. Time is short. Jeff has to end the Third Reich to ensure Anne is not killed.

The group travel to Berlin. In the outskirts of the city, in a slummy area where the Nazis hold the least power, a Communist Daughter (a young girl who belongs to a family of communists) leads them through a shantytown maze. This is for their own good, to ensure the Nazis dont find them. She says nothing to Jeff or the others, she only giggles and runs around. They follow because Jeff thinks she may be Anne.

When they arrive at the Communist Daughter's home, she speaks to them at last. She is not Anne, but she has the same goal as Jeff- ending the Third Reich. She doesnt know how to defeat Hitler, but she knows the man who does. Jesus Christ. She tells him the ritual needed to summon the Ghost of Jesus (include referencees to the song "Ghost").

Jeff gathers the necessary reagents and they summon the Ghost of Jesus Christ. He tells them of the mystical Pitchfork of Beenem (BNM). They have to travel to hell to fight a demon that resembles a Two Headed Boy.

The game starts in a post apocalyptic environment, with Jeff passing a car thats on fire with no driver at the wheel. After scrounging around for a bit, Jeff finds an old book in the rubble, when he opens it, it's The Diary Of Anne Frank. Jeff reads it in one sitting and is overcome by emotion, he sees the light of innocents that has been lost in his world. He collapses to the ground and wishes to die so he can leave this hellish world but he has a religious experience when Jesus Christ appears in front of him. After this experience, Jeff becomes to determined to go back in time and save the innocents that was lost in his world.

On his journey, Jeff assembles a party and meets a man named Kelvin The Shield Bearer. Kelvin believes hew can build a machine that can send Jeff back in time, but he needs the parts. After helping Kelvin, Kelvin activates the machine and a great noise comes from it and sends the group back in time.
