This is commonly called a Rotary engine, but it is more accurately called a Wankel engine. It is used in the RX-8, a Mazda sports car currently in production and quite affordable. My first car that I bought myself. I miss it.

This might be some sort of Brayton cycle engine. Not sure what it is though. I heard the term 'rotary' applied by some gear-head once. He wasn't referring to a Wankel, but described motion like this.

The key is how its power collection occurs from the difference between the two rotating parts, not from any absolute pushoff point.

if the spark ignites just after the rotors begin to spread, then the expanding gasses will push them further apart, rotating it in he same direction. I would presume that this type of motor can spin in two directions, depending on the timing of the spark

There's a spring in the magazine which make the bullet push up into the barrel when the barrel is clear. This is the spring which makes a big resistance when you put in a bullet in an almost full magazine.

That bobbin mechanism is inaccurate. The shuttle (?) actually moves the line half a turn down and then it parts with it and returns. This is needed to not to jam the line in its drive. Also the needle remains down until the line loop passes the bottom of the bobbin so that it keeps the hole open for the line to pass through easily. (The needle has a groove.)

This looks like an aircraft engine to me - Flanged crankshaft output, air-cooled, horizontally opposed. Looks similar to a Continental O-200, but the intake manifold passes through the oil sump to cool the oil slightly.

Good .gif to illustrate the relationship between pistons, con rods, and crank, stationary valve train makes me sad though.

That's a radial engine, not a rotary of any kind. Just the point of view is different (the crankshaft is fixed in place in this gif, so it looks like the rest of the engine moves).

This is an Alpha Stirling engine. (with a lot of bells and whistles apparently).
>>4239912
This is a Beta Stirling engine.
They are heat engines, or external combustion engines, meaning they use the expansion and compression of a gas (usually air or hydrogen I think)
In a sealed piston.
The beta has two pistons: one hot, one cold, the alpha shares a piston but uses a "displacer" piston.
In case anyone cares.

Here's a piano key.
Lightning and speech gifs blew my mind.
But I don't understand the need for a differential, does i just provent wobble? or loss of traction? Can someone explain it's purpose to me?

if you are driving in a circle, one of the wheels turns faster as the radius is bigger.. to prevent this and to give the ability to drive bends you need a differential. Without one it is hardly possible to drive :)
