Muscle DOES help, though. You need to change your body composition. I've gained 20 pounds since then, and I have MORE definition, and the skin is tighter. It still needs work, but I'm far from done.

I have my doubts about that. Even if there is NO fat in those flaps of skin, I think the only reason you would need surgery is if you don't want to wait for it to firm up. If you're young, your skin should adapt. When the skin is too loose, as the cells die they are just not replaced by new ones (just like when you get fat, the skin cells are replaced with multiple cells to accomodate the extra size, stretch marks happen when they can't multiply fast enough).

If you can avoid loose skin by losing weight slowly as the skin adjusts, then I see no reason why you can't lose the weight quickly and wait that little bit longer for it to tighten up.

I could be wrong, but it makes sense to me.
