I'd obviously go for a Staryu (got a sweet coral reef about four hours' drive from where I live), but they might be a protected species, so I'd need to use stealth.

I figure I'd pick up a batch of domestic Normal-type Pokemon, book a flight to Germany, and drop by Auschwitz, or something. A bit pricey, but more than worth the payoff in Ghost-type Pokemon.

I grew up in FL, too. I'd have a Drowzee. I had bad sleeping issues as a kid. It would be nice today to have a bit of help going to sleep. When you have a cool dream, you would have a friend there, that when you explained it wouldn't look at you like you were crazy.

I don't know that much about Pokemon. I live in a coastal town with a harbor and lots of mountains. Our city is surrounded by 7 mountains and an ocean and islands. It's far up north so it's often rainy and cold (but when it gets hot and sunny, it gets hot and sunny). There's a rather small town center with large buildings and shops and all that. Lotsa pigeons. But where I live it's relatively quiet and nice. We have all sortsa animals here.

I bet I'd get a Zubat (Crobat fuck yeah) and a Hoothoot for a Noctowl.
Then I could always go to the coast and getttt... someeee... water pokes.

I grew up in Alaska, so I'd probably have a spheal/seel as a starter. Also lots of water types that look more northern, like wailmer or piplup. For sake of it being an actual "starter," Piplup would be ideal (of course, penguins are from the SOUTH pole....).

As with all wars, there come the war crimes. This may not be something you can easily understand, given how neutered and restrained commercial dueling has made beast, and they are beasts, seem. People did things, or worse, ordered things of their 6, that drove most to suicide at the end of hostilities. MAGMA squad. Urban specialists... loosing a Magmar or Charmeleon into a house, flooding floors in flames from the ground up. No one goes in, no one comes out. I've heard some say this is what lead to the Vanishing, why so many pokemon went feral or simply went away. Any human they met after what they were forced to do takes them back to the doorway of that last house, the screams of their brothers and their brothers masters perishing in a war they had no want for. And their human partners? Some of them got to enjoying it too much to ever return to any real civilization. All they sought was the thrill of the fire. Along the coast, villages were wiped out in weaponised weather, water stormers pushing the population inland. AQUA didn't even have to worry about taking prisoners when the bodies were taken with the tides. When their time came at the end of the war, the slipped back into the surf just as quietly.
