Kept yelling at the director about the jews this and n-word that, it was crazy man. So finally he comes out to do his part, and he smells like he took a bath in Jack Daniels. I told him Kong buddy you gotta cut down on the drinking man that shit could kill you. It's a sad tale. At least most of his legacy today is still untarnished. Even though people mostly recognize him because of that one film in 1933.

Roland Emmerich was pretty adamant against recruiting the real Godzilla for his American adaptation, being cited as stating that the actor was too expensive and "everything he did was stiff." Though much of his staff disagreed, Emmerich was the director at the end of the day and it was decided that Godzilla would not play the titular role. The Spinosaurus from Jurassic Park III was ultimately selected, and was so enthusiastic about his big debut that he trimmed his spines off.

King Ghidorah sadly passed away while GMK was still in post-production. A lifelong proponent of higher education, he left his estate to various Japanese universities. At the premiere screening of GMK, a tearful Godzilla was quoted as saying "Onscreen we were always bitter enemies. But off camera, you could never have a better friend. I loved him like a brother."

King Ghidorah's role in Final Wars was filled by his adopted son Kaiser, who said it was "the least I could do to honor the memory of my father."

Spinosaurus, now preferring to call himself "Zilla," gained a considerable amount of weight for the role in an effort to make himself unrecognizable to the audience. Unfortunately audiences and critics noted how similar the two roles looked, particularly Zilla's inability to blast radiation and illuminate his trimmed spines. Though saddened by the critical failure of the film, Zilla said he wouldn't have done anything different and was happy to have worked with Emmerich. Zilla was later recruited for a minor role in Godzilla: Final Wars, finally meeting his hero and pleasing audiences with his pratfall.

The following is an interview from LIFE magazine:

>So, what are you working on now?
>Just wrapped up Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla, I was playing the part that Mechagodzilla stepped down from, which was probably best, having three Godzillas in one movie would have been crazy.
>It was a while since you've been in a movie with Godzilla, why the long pause between this and your classic The Mysterians?
>Well I basically took a break of the whole business, after the whole King Kong and MechaKong thing I saw that the Hesei films were getting too ... silly, I didnt want to do anything so childish.
>So why come back now? Is Space Godzilla so Different to Mechagodzilla?
>vastly, Space-G is a far better actor overall, I really see a bright future for him.

Clover, an aquatic monster hailing from the Mexican shores, was originally spotted by one of J.J. Abram's closest talent-seekers in Los Angeles. Working as a waiter in a Mexican restaurant, the agent admired Clover's peculiar appearance and giant size; Abrams himself believe that Clover's appearance was quite fierce, citing that she could be the "American Godzilla." Clover was originally reluctant to work in Hollywood but eventually eased in to her role when Abrams' vision dictated she be largely obscured by darkness and handheld camera action. Clover's film was a considerable hit, earning her fifteen minutes of fame and quite the paycheck. Clover was grateful for the audience's enthusiasm but cites she only liked "certain parts of the film" due to her tendency to become queasy in the presence of even fictionalized violence.

Clover now spends much of her time back in Mexico, watching over her 183 children.

Gigan decided to bow out of the entertainment industry and became an advocate for human rights and foreign aid, funding and participating in many relief efforts the world over.

He currently lives in eastern Montana, running a Kaiju rehabilitation clinic to get ailing monsters back to independence.

After a bad motorcycle crash Gigan had to endure complete reconstructive surgery and months of gruelling physical rehabilitation. As a result he was forced to miss the funeral for his long time best friend King Ghidorah. Gigan was inconsolable for weeks afterward.

His return in Final Wars was done partially as a favor to Godzilla and Rodan who helped him through the tragedy, and to his fallen friend. He was quoted as "Ghidorah had a great outlook on life, he said the second you let all the bad things in life get to you then you've already stopped living. I'm here to show him that I'm gonna live for the both of us."

King Caesar has written a memoir entitled "Nuclear Family: Life Behind the Silver Screen." It details his journey into the movie making business and the many friends he'd made along the way.

An excerpt:
- When we found out Ghidorah had cancer, it felt like the world stopped. You could call him the big brother of the group: always there to listen, willing to help you out whenever he could. This great guy who was just as amazing in life as he was on set was dying and despite everything we could do on screen there was nothing we could do to stop it. But he never slowed down. He fought against it every waking moment for the sake of the people he loved to entertain.

He was and will always be my hero.

For the last couple of years Godzilla was visiting many animation studios, trying his best to convince them to realize an interesting idea of his. The King of Monsters has a vision of an animated series for the entire family starring himself and most of his Kaiju friends - a series that would be witty, action packed and educational without the overly preachy tone many other animated shows have. He visited most of the studios in the US and Japan already, with little success so far, unfortunately. But Godzilla is not giving up and he has good reasons to be so stubborn. He is never going to publicly admit it, but some people in the business say that this project means so much to him because it would give work (as voice actors) to many of his close Kaiju friends, some of who deal with severe financial problems and are to simply proud to ask for a loan, even from an old friend. Godzilla would like to give them one more chance to shine and remind them of the good old days.

Some say that the reason behind the series receiving so much resistance from the producers may be the idea that every Kaiju would voice his animated version himself and none studio feels brave enough to deal with such a number of famous monsters at once for 3 full seasons. "I strongly believe that one day this show will become reality and bring much happiness to many young people around the world." - says Godzilla - "So don't lose hope, dear fans, the battle is not yet over."

The rumor says that Disney refused to approve some of the Godzilla's ideas for the action scenes, Anguirus being used as a mace to fight off evil monsters included. According to Disney, using a living being as a weapon is always wrong, even though Anguirus himself loved the idea and disagreed with claims that it would "objectify him".

After a promising showing in Godzilla vs The Sea Monster, many expected Ebirah to continue on to a successful career in show business. Instead, he collected his paycheck and the royalties on the stock footage from All Monsters All Out Attack, and used the funds to finance a successful upscale sushi restaurant in downtown Tokyo. When asked why he left the business, he would often cite that he simply discovered he loved the restaurant game more.

Needless to say, many industry insiders were surprised when he agreed to come back for a cameo in Final Wars. "Godzilla's been my golf partner for the better part of twenty years now. I'll admit I was surprised when he asked me, but my grandkids seemed to enjoy it, so that made it all worthwhile."

I believe Disney response was something about kids not being strong enough to do that to other kids or humaoids, but they could get inspired to do it to a pet lizard if they saw it done with a giant lizard.

"He was a hero of mine. (referring to Kong) When shooting Episode 3, he contacted me asking if I needed any advice when it came time for my scenes. Normally I'm a pretty calm guy off screen, so the idea of Kong helping me getting into my character seemed like a dream come true. I'd learn to instill fear that could break pass the lens of a camera and into the viewers world. This being achieved while working with one of my idles, who inspired me to act. Well it didn't turn out to well. Lucas reluctantly let him on to the set, after warning me several times that he wasn't the same monkey anymore. Kong's idea of what it takes to be remembered and respected was late nights partying with hardcore drugs and loose women. Being married myself I was always tempted to use my start power to sleep with who I wanted, but my morals keep me in check. With the King, there can not be, nor are there any morals. After having Kong mooch off me for 5 days, having me treat him to his own wild times with little to no attention payed to my role or any acting for that matter, I was treated to an unpleasant surprise the evening just before shooting began on Episode 3. Staggering into my hotel room Kong reeked of piss and cheap vodka, he had a wheel barrow full of women tied up and a potato sack of drugs and other various unmentionables. I tried to get him to leave, but he was so stinky I could get near him. He tossed the women on the bed and began to force corn starch-laced coke down their throats. One girl tried to escape, but he smacked her over the head with a bottle of Sky vodka, he covered her head in corn starch to stop the bleeding, but at this point she was dead.He pulled a gun on me and told me start fucking. Fearing for my life I did as he asked, after an hour the room reeked of flesh, piss, cocaine and cocaine accessories. I had done so much pcp, ruffies, and other shit it fucked up my voice.

Many fans were outraged at this as they feel it makes it extremely unlikely that Godzilla would agree to guest-star in an episode of EMH. As many fans had hoped they would see an animated version of the classic comic book bout between Marvel's famed superhero team and the Big Man himself.

Godzilla, however, claims that if Disney does approach him about animating the fight, he wouldn't let his personal feelings towards the incident get in the way.

"It was my mom, actually, who told me they were auditioning people to play the major antagonist in the next Godzilla movie. I'm not a professional actress or anything, but Godzilla was like a total legend... I had to give it a try, even just for the thrill of knowing I had auditioned. Then to my surprise, practically the minute I walked through the door, they told me 'you're hired'. I was ecstatic.

When asked why she never made any future appearances in the Godzilla franchise, Biollante had this to say:

"They've offered a few times, even just for a cameo in Final Wars... But that's not who I am anymore. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy I did it and it's an experience I'll never forget, but now that I have a family it's harder for me to just run off and do a movie for a few months. They put me in one of the video games though, so that was awfully sweet of them. It was quite a surprise seeing my kids playing a Godzilla game and shouting 'look mommy, it's you!'"

"We kept urging him to check into a clinic, but by then they'd gotten him hooked on smack."

The Giant Claw was found dead of a heroin overdose in a ditch in San Bernadino in 1962. He was 27.

After the flop of the sequel to the rebootation of Godzilla, Megaguirus decided to start his own restaurant in Osaka, Japan. With her business ( Jazmine Noodles ) being successful, she now resides with her wife and two dogs in a nice mansion. The former-star has mentioned in an interview in 2003 that she'd love to try and re-work the film once more before quitting acting forever. But alas, the odds of that happening are zero.

Gabara is arguably one of the most controversial "stars" among the Kaiju fandom. After appearing in several art-house and independent movies, "Godzilla's Revenge" seemed like just the thing he needed to launch himself into the mainstream. Unfortunately the movie performed very poorly at the box office and was almost universally panned by critics. Gabara's career never recovered. All his later roles were in low budget B-movies, often under heavy prosthetics and costumes that left him unrecognizable.

Despite it putting an end to his mainstream movie career before it had even started, Gabara admits to enjoying working on the film and remains humble in the face of his critics. He is usually the first to point out the film's many flaws and, to this day, promises to refund anyone out of his own pocket if they admit to paying money to see it in theatres.

In another interview with Empire, Leo, son of the world famous Mothra herself, had this to say on shooting his debut role, Rebirth of Mothra "Oh man, Ghidorah, that guy.... when I first told my mom I wanted to follow her footsteps, she went right over and picked up the phone, 'I know this guy,' she said, 'best actor you could ever work with.' So I meet him and... what can you say? It's like meeting Darth Vader or the Joker, and then finding out that they are the best mentor a guy could ask for. The studio wanted a new look for him, so they got these fake legs. You should have seen the look on his face, but he never said a word against it. I think I understand why now. He wanted me to get my big break, to really show what I could do.
I loved working with him so much, so much that when I got to the third movie I told the studio, 'Only one monster is big enough for the job, and if you put him in that suit again I will fly off set.' He finally got to shine, and I gave it my all for that big finish. At the end he just said, 'Good job kid, I couldn't ask for a better co-star.' He gave me a tap on the shoulder that always seemed a little weak, and then said. 'Go get 'em kid.' And I laughed and I.....
When mom told me he... I mean, I was so excited to see him when he said that he was in that movie that.... It was losing dad all over again...."
The interviewer recalled that he perked up quickly, clearing his throat and acting like nothing had happened.
"But hey, he wouldn't want me to be sad! 'Go get 'em kid, that's what he said, and that's what I'm going to do! I'll show the world, he wouldn't want it any other way."

>Well I guess I'm just a trendsetter, it seems like every other day someone comes up to me and says "Hey, are you The Beast?!" and almost every time I blush and chuckle, responding "Ha, yeah that's me". For awhile I didn't really enjoy the attention and fame- that is, until I met Godzilla."

>"He was still just a kid it seems back then, he caught me after a quick news interview, and he said that he was my greatest fan, and that my work made him want to act. At that point I knew it all was worth it. So a couple weeks later surprisingly enough, Toho calls me up and it's Tanaka himself, asking me if I knew any talent. I remembered Godzilla, and needless to say the rest is history"

>"It's about the kids, it's always been about the kids. And it makes me a happy old man to know that Godzilla still tries his best to reach out to and help the youth."

The Beast died days later in his San Francisco home from heart failure. His open casket funeral had an overwhelming attendance of 500,000 featuring speeches from Godzilla, Mothra, Gamera and the late Ghidorah.

Tyrannosaurus at the Hollywood Retirement Home for Monsters in 1986 reminiscing on fellow actor Allosaurus and WWII:

"When the Depression hit, all the monsters had trouble finding work. RKO got us work on King Kong and there were always work in travel shorts and live action performances, but times were still tough. And even Kong felt the punch, he burned through his money so fast he did some unauthorized films in Japan.

"Allosaurus and I made a living doing museum gigs and even film testing for Disney's Rite of Spring. I remember we were traveling to Pittsburgh when Pearl Harbor was bombed. When Allosaurus heard about that on the radio he exploded. He started ranting about those 'Damn monkey-faces' and how 'Kong fit right in with them.' Now, I knew Allosaurus was always a little racist, he'd always be cracking racist jokes about the Ape-Men on any films we were in, hell, we all laughed at them. But THIS, he kicked a wall down, flipped a Duesenburg, and said he was going to 'Kill those Jap sons of bitches.' After that, he became impossible to work with, like a switch had been flipped. A few months later he enlisted and we went our separate ways. I never spoke with him again."

(Allosaurus was killed on Kwajalein Atoll in 1944. His son went on to his own acting career. Tyrannosaurus died in 1989, survived by his son and grandson, both actors.)

Two facts few people know about Iris, one, that she's actually terribly shy, and two, that she had a massive crush on Gamera. It got so bad, that the first day she met him for rehearsals, she kept stammering and flubbing her lines.
And yet, Gamera never seemed to be bothered by this, often breaking character just to do something silly and make her laugh. She will often tell the story of when a particularly bad fit of stammering occurred, he stopped right there, pointed to her, and challenged her to a flight around the building. She was confused, but accepted, and the resulting race ended up being the inspiration for the films climactic aerial battle. She never flubbed a line again.
They eventually became good friends, and if the tabloids are to be believed, a little more for a short time. They still keep in contact, and to this day they often meet once a year, just to race again.

>"I'm here live at San Fransisco, in the downtown Chinatown area. As you can see behind me, the US military has been called on the scene, as well as local authorities, to investigate. Around 1AM last night, the body of King Kong, the former big monster movie star, was discovered in his chair at the back of The Big One, the world- famous bar that caters exclusively to monsters of all kinds. So far, no one is sure what has happened, but it has been confirmed that King Kong was last seen at this bar with former co-star and friend, Godzilla. During an interview with Godzilla in 1988, he was asked if he would ever work with King Kong again. Zilla replied;

"A lot of the producers at Toho have always toyed with the idea of making a proper sequel to our versus film, but I think if we would ever do it, it would be with Son of Kong. The producers have talked to him and he seems to be getting his acting career into the spotlight, so he is really the new star. His father was great to work with... but there were... problems on set. On camera, he was hard but off camera... things got worse. He was a legend in the business and ten years my senior so I always looked up to him and we were able to get passed most of our various differences, but because of his rocky relationship with Toho, we really lost touch the moment filming ended. Then I head a lot of friends here at home that needed me spiritually because of their own personal demons. It wasn't until recently that I heard he was blacklisted in Hollywood and things were getting worse all the time. I took part in the third intervention, I flew out to L.A. and everything. That's when I met his son. We stay in touch and I've told him to call me if there is ever trouble, but even he is not in touch with Kong anymore. I wish I could have done more for him, but now he needs to save himself."

I heard that they started developing a film together sometime in late 89, but after King Kong's heart attack scare in '92, the project got dropped out of respect.

In the documentary "Puff'd" released in 2006 with interview footage filmed in 1994, aging "star" King Kong had this to say;

"Marsh was murdered. No doubt about it. How do I know it? They asked me to do it. Gave me a briefcase full of money, told me that I needed it. But I didn't need *censored* I know what I'm doing, I got everything going for me..."
(the rest of the rant was cut due to time)
"-ut you know, I'm no snitch. You'll never get it outta me, but I'll tell you this much, it was no accident. They didn't awant him araound no mo'. Just like they tried to get rid of me but I'm still here. And *censored* Jet Jaguar!"*

*In case you didn't know, Jet Jaguar dissed Kong on his first single of his second album released in '93 called "Don't Fear tha Jaguar". The diss track was all about not showing respect to Godzilla or something stupid like that.

Asked about his hip hop beef with Kong, Jet Jaguar had this to say after the late star's passing;
"Everybody who was at Toho liked to talk about Kong. He was a legend before he ever came to Japan, and he just got more infamous when he left. Um... Zilla always respected him but I didn't. Not after what I heard about how things were on set for them. I made this one track calling out people I thought were fakes... or y'know, just in general dicks. He got pretty furious over it. He didn't expect it and he was actually really hurt by it. And that caught me by surprise. He started calling me out in interviews and I was like, what the fuck does this old geezer think he's doing? I could destroy him (snaps finger) like that! Y'know what I'm sayin? But, Godzilla is my bro and he respects him and when my album came out, he asked me not to talk about Kong on wax anymore. So I never answered back even though I wanted to at a certain point. We never really talked after that either. But I was saddened to hear about his death, it would have been better if we could have buried the hatchet, you know?"

The Kong Family website just released this:
"Dear friends, family and fans. Today you might have heard the sombering news that broke my heart. My father, the legendary "king of monsters" King Kong has passed away. I have noticed that the media are turning this into a circus, interviewing anyone they can and speculating as much as possible. But I hope you understand that we do not know anything as of yet. My father had gotten in touch with me and last time we spoke, he was not only sober but happy with life. It's true that right before passing away, he was meeting with Godzilla and they were burying the hatchet. Unbeknown to most, their relationship had taken a turn for the worse in later years and both were hoping of getting back together, both in reality and in film. You might have heard rumors of Kong's directional debut as well as Godzilla and Pauly Shore having a role. All of this was true. It was a project we were hoping of announcing at San Diego Comic Con. We do not know if the project will continue, but that is what my father... our father would have wanted. I hope you will choose to remember him as the young actor who got his first start in cinema in one of the greatest movies of our time and as an older gentleman who died at peace with his life and not as the party animal he was played up in stories and on the news. My father was not perfect. Far from it. But he tried his best and always gave his best, even when he felt crushed and destroyed, he kept on going. And I hope most of us can try to respect that and with him, respect his work and try to forget the tales that have immortalized him in a negative light. Because deep down, although he would never admit it, he really cared what you all thought of him and I would like to think of him happy somewhere out there, that he is finally remembered for something good."

This is Brian Williams with NBC News - we've received word on the Kong autopsy. Toxicologists are reporting high levels of oxycodone in the bloodstream, resulting in traumatic asphyxiation and cerebral hemorrhaging. The chief of police is expected to rule the death an accidental overdose at a press conference to be called within the hour.

For those of you just joining us here at NBC, the legendary screen and stage actor William C. "King" Kong has passed away sometime today, from an apparent painkiller overdose. An often controversial figure due to his offscreen antics, he was nonetheless beloved by generations of children and adults all around the globe. He was 87.

Jeff Bridges spoke briefly about Kong death.

"Yeah the guy had his problems, man. Everbody's got their demons, but Kong, his demons just wouldn't let him go. He was like watching a train wreck happening, you can't do a damn thing to stop it no matter how hard you want to. It's heavy man, death, it's a heavy thing. I don't know what else to say, I mean, I worked with him for two movies and he was difficult as hell, but there was good there deep down. I think he just buried it himself, pushed down the good parts of him, pushed them down so far that even he forgot they were still there. I can tell you one thing though, now that he can face them, he's probably snapping those demons jaws. Rest in peace Kongster, I'll save a drink for you."

People close to Kong are saying he was peaceful, calm and sober near the end but TMZ are tweeting that they are going to release a conversation Kong had moments before he died where he is furiously yelling racial slurs at an intern. His speech was also slurred...

Gorosaurus who, co-stared with Kong in one of his Toho films, was quoted as saying this in response to his death.

"Kong was mean, belligerant, racist son of a bitch. But when push came to shove he would do what's right. Kong had his problems, and made damn sure everyone knew, but he was also in his own way a decent guy. I kept him sober through the entire film, even after all my scenes were filmed, kong asked me to stay on to give him a swift kick in the face if he even looked at a bottle. Yeah, Kong was a mess, but he tried to change he worked hard to change. But some demons are just really hard to overcome. I feel conflicted about his death, on the one hand he's at peace, but on the other he let his demons swallow him up. I wish his family well and I hope they can get throught this. That's all I have to say."

I can totally believe this with TMZ being the assholes that they are.
I'm still pissed that they posted those Mothra nip slips all over the Internet a few years back. Just because they used to make movies doesn't mean they should be followed 24/7 like that.

Megalon was always kind of a dick, but he was a smart dick. The guy never had money issues, even before some of the shit he worked on, but that dickness really kept him from getting anywhere in the film industry. Good with numbers, bad with people.

Mecha-Kong is currently being held in San Quentin state prison, on charges of aggrevated assult and attemted muder. Mecha-Kong's case has been long since scrutinized as a miscarrige of justice, others deriding the fact tat Mecha-Kong was railroaded to a guilty verdict.

His legal team is still working on his appeals.

Really sad to hear about Kong's death. I for one was rooting for him to recover his career and sanity.

Sigh... drugs and hard partying take another soul, at least he lived through the dark 80's and 90's.

Too progressive too soon, they said. Then again, the I'm guessing we have the backlash from that to blame for no more male monsters trying to pull a female monster.

At least not to my knowledge.

Rest in peace, Ghidorah and King William Kong. Sit back and watch...it's your turn to be the audience.
