18 KB ITT Try to come up with a plot for this... Anonymous 12/30/08(Tue)19:10 No.7265180
Drake Mallard. Born to an average family, saw his parents die in a burning and sinking ship. Unable to save them the young duck was left with a small sinking hole in his heart. Always wondering "if I just had the power to save them..."

A few years later it goes to Drake's highschool prom where he asks his high school sweetheart out. She refuses and he's left alone... however Elmo Sputterspark appears and plans to destroy the prom and everyone in it. Thinking quickly, Drake managed to fight him off but due to the fact his face was covered by a curtain no one seemed to know it was him.

Soon after Drake decides to try and become a superhero. However he discovers that being a Superhero doesn't pay and he needs money and resources for him to properly fight crime. As such he goes to the aging Scrooge Mcduck for help and advice.

The movie focuses around Scrooge and Drake in a Terry/Old Bruce fashion. As Drake has to prove to Scrooge that he's worthy of gaining his advanced wealth in order to fight crime and find out a bit about his mentor's... shameful past.

...glorious.

Gizmoduck must go on a rampage being remote controlled by one of Darkwing's enemies as the climactic final battle... and Darkwing must defeat the greatest hero of Duckburg.

<Glomgold> I win this time, McDuck. The Gem is mine. *turns and runs down a narrow ledge, gem in hand*
<McDuck> Its not over yet, Glomgold! *chases after*

*cue traps beginning to take effect, Glomgold and Scrooge continue the chase as the ledge begins to crack*

<McDuck> RUN!
<Glomgold> I CAN SEE THAT!

*The pair end up on a ledge as Scrooge and Glomgold leap past the last trap and escape the crumbling walkway*

*They both look up, and see the gem glittering ahead where it was dropped. Both scrabble for it, and with a cheap shot(edit: Stab in the leg), Glomgold comes up with the gem and holds it high*

<Glomgold> I told you I would win in the end, McDuck!
*ledge begins to crack, Glomgold falls*
<McDuck> GLOMGOLD! *reaches out, catches his hand* Hold on...
<Glomgold> *still holding the gem, holding McDuck's hand and looking afraid* Pull me up!
<McDuck> I... *heave* Can't... Give me your other hand, Glomgold! We have to do this together!
<Glomgold> *looks down to the gem, looks up to McDuck* Not on yer life.
<McDuck> Its not worth yours!
<Glomgold> *goes calm* ...That was always the difference between us. *hand slips(in blood/from another shake/whatever, and he falls away)*
<McDuck> GLOMGOOOOOOOOLD!

Drake: I'm sorry *cough* I... I couldn't...

Scrooge: Never you mind. My assets are all stored in oversea accounts. The insurance on this bin is payed up and I can earn the resources inside in a matter of months.

Drake: But... it's your moneybin...

Scrooge: Teaches me for putting all my eggs in one basket!

Drake: This is my fault Scrooge. This'll teach me to be a 'hero' HA! I can't even save one of the most well guarded banks in the world!

Scrooge: ... Drake. There's something I forgot a long time ago. Mcduck enterprises was losing stock for a reason and ya taught me something. Something I shoulda remembered. Scrooge being Darkwing's benefactor is an awesomely interesting idea. Better yet, work it into the existing canon since they technically belong in the same universe.

Oh I've got a story alright, I've got a fucking epic story. It all started one day when I slept in hard from a long night up, and I had the trippiest fucking dream ever, first I'll introduce you to The Rebirth of Drake Mallard's Legacy as DarkWing.

It starts of like this, after a good decade of crime fighting Drake Mallard's career as Darkwing Duck begins to become essentially more and more "pointless" as his new conglomerate company "Dracorpartion" institutes a city wide private military that handles all the “public” crime or at least that is how it is made to seem. Finding himself less and less useful soon the hero known as Darkwing Duck begins to appear less and less....Drake Mallard's legacy now resides in being the owner of a wealthy company and nothing more. Soon however things begin to pick up, a rare and strange meteorite from out of space crash lands in the middle of the city. Dracorporation’s scientist team are the first on site to retrieve and begin experimenting on the alien material which seems to regenerate cells if not super charge them…but that is for a later part of this story.
>> Part 2 Anonymous 12/30/08(Tue)20:24 No.7266155
>>7266150

One of Mallard's lead scientist who he has known since her childhood years, leaves late from her lab activities after having a discussion with the man she once knew so well in regards to his “previous lifestyle”, only to be assaulted by a group of muggers who happen to catch sight of her walking home without any protection, even in his old age Drake seeing the shifty eyed men, in his last act as the Darkwing Duck, Drake fends off the attackers, but is mortally wounded by 3 gun shots to the leg. The woman takes him back to her apartment and in a heat of passion, well you know, they fluff their feathers. Anyway, realizing that he must officially retire as Darkwing Duck after the incident, Drake Mallard has to make a public appearance and ban the allowance of any superhero vigilantes from his city, seeing as how dangerous the line of work is he does not wish for anyone to follow in his foot steps. He states this as an act of “good will” insuring the rest of the citizens that Dracorporation has their safety in the best hands. He later marries a wealthy charming colleague he met during a meeting to merge his company with her employers. They have a son Giorgo Mallard, who grows up to be quite spoiled and reckless, using his financial status to get away with some of the most insidious of acts. Drake watching the heir to his business become a little devil is disappointed and disgraced, slumping into a depression that only accelerates his already aged appearance.
>> Anonymous 12/30/08(Tue)20:25 No.7266165
They really made his DUCK parents die on a sinking ship? Impressive.
>> Part 3 Anonymous 12/30/08(Tue)20:30 No.7266228
Many years later unbeknownst to him the employee he helped save from many years before introduces him to her son, whilst the boy plays with the DNA helix model the woman has been using to decode the alien meteorite’s material, he asks her under his breath if the child is his own, and she admits that she cannot be certain, but points out that she was not romantically seeing anyone aside from him, aware that the possibility of him having an affair would damage his reputation she agrees to take care of the child without letting him know who his true father is but, continues to work and receives child support from Drake, but to insure no links are made brings him up in a very distant and different neighbourhood far from Drake’s “influence”. The boy growing up in a very mediocre housing, becomes quite gifted in the sciences, to prevent him from becoming aware of his "heritage" he is raised on a tight budget and schooled in a strict and very harsh academic system. He however leaves his school years very bright and cheerful, making two life long friends; a girl(pidgeon) who he met in his college years who helped him stand up for himself , and a childhood friend (owl) who protected him all throughout his life from his adversaries. Monica Monroe and Artemus Owl all see their friend (Drake’s love child)Draco Quackers/Mullard off as he goes to join his mother at her work place at Dracorporation, something she did not approve of, but due to his impressive resume (and ofcourse Drake’s personal interest) got him a job anyway.
>> Part 4 Anonymous 12/30/08(Tue)20:38 No.7266346
Draco fits in nicely with the rest of the research team, bright and optimistic he soon gains the respect of all the employees of Drake Mullard’s Corporation, include Drake himself, who quickly begins to invite the boy to the family Sunday night dinners and takes him on trips. Giorgo does not let this go unnoticed; he soon begins to question Draco on his motives, asking why he is getting so close to his father. Draco insist that it is simply an employer-employee relationship (unaware himself of the true connection) but due to his innocence gets on the wrong foot with Giorgo. One day, Giorgo with assistance from a mobster he was secretly funding using his father’s money, intends to steal the rare meteorite artifact and use it to supercharge some of his henchmen. They job goes terribly wrong when Draco’s mother attempts to defend the meteorite and her son, who were both unfortunately there at the time of the incident, and before his eyes his mother is gunned down. Using the companies top-secret power armor that was fueled by the meteorite’s energy, he hunts down the masked men, but before he can find out who sent them they ingest suicide pills. When the police arrive at the abandoned warehouse the men were using to hideout, they see Draco in his get up (his mask covering his face) and suspect him to be a murderer. He quickly flees the scene. The next morning, unsure of what he must do he is called by his Boss, Drake who informs him sadly that he is dying from a slow cancer which seems to be the result of continued exposure to the meteorite’s energy. Giorgo in the room asks what Draco is even doing there, and quickly loses his temper expressing that his father has always usurped Draco above his own family. Drake tired of Giorgo’s complaints tells him to leave. Knowing what he must now do to protect the city from the monster his son is quickly becoming.

Drake, lets Draco tell him of his mother’s loss, but in his death bed, Drake feels he must also tell the boy of his true nature and what is to come shortly. He explains the legacy of The Darkwing Duck and all that it stands for, and even though he can see the boy is visibly disturbed by the truth of matters, goes on to tell him the truth about his birth. He then tells him he is intrusting the materialistic, pointless, capitalist world of Drake Mallard in Giorgo’s hands, but is giving the cowl of the Darkwing to his true son, Draco. Draco visibly disgusted that Drake would allow all that happened to have happened without any interference, to let his mother die, to let the world become what it has, even though he was once the Darkwing Duck flees the room in tears. A few weeks later Drake’s tragic death is reported in the news and Giorgo’s ascension to his thrown is made official. Draco decides to pay a visit to his old friends Artemis and Monica, who having not spoken to him after his mother’s death, wish to comfort him. Only to witness on his way a similar mugging that his father witnessed on that fated day where he ceased to be The Darkwing Duck, that quickly sparks the man’s heroic flare and instead rebirths the cowl of the Darkwing anew. Finally decided on what he must do after successfully aiding the woman, Draco pays his visit to his friend, and tells them he is no longer going to be in contact with them. Realizing that his father’s associations are what lead to his downfall, he cast off any and all links to anyone he knows, to prevent them harm and dedicates his life to finishing his mother’s research for the benefit of Duckind, but also secretly prowling the streets late at night in his perfected model of the Darkwing Power Suit as the city’s protector. The Darkwing.

Insert Spider-Man transformation movie sequence, various villians who with the assistance of Giorgo due to his hate of the Darkwing, who he considers a relic of the past and another "show off" who intends to usurp him. And we have the classic Peter Parker/Spider-Man-Norman Osborn relationship. Also we later find out Artemis marries Monica, further angst, Artemis becomes infected with the strange meteorite virus, becomes super powered hero, however discovers he is set to "explode" in a matter of days unless his discharges his energy in space. Darkwing has to watch his friend selfdestruct on the moon. More angst, etc, etc. You get the point.

Actually one trippy dream of being a duck billed detective who tries to stop a liquified alien mass murderer in a large conglomerate glass building conducting experiments on exterterrestial life, using various gadgets like a "freeze rays", followed the next morning by the realization that the dream reminded me of a cartoon I once watched (at the time I could not recall that it was Darkwing Duck) followed by a night of listening to various soundtracks such as the Spider-Man Movie soundtrack, The Hulk Movie Soundtrack and The Batman Beyond Intro Theme, lead me to start typing up a story (because this dream was fucking epic like Ghost Busters, but with aliens), by the time I realized that the hero was grimdark like Batman, and that he was prone to using Gadgets, I smiled recalling the dream was actually about "Darkwing Duck", fun fact, the story was originally going to be about Donald Duck's nephews becoming Super Heroes, as I had thought the dream was about DuckTales.

The kid needed motivation, the best motivation is realizing that much like your father did in his retired years, you've stood around letting your friends protect you, and hiding behind your mothers skirt, and now she's dead. After that you're told that you really should be some sort of heroic symbolism for the masses, instead of a glasses wearing nerd, and you begin to hate who you are, and what you've become. So you live off that fuel, that anger, that hate, and you become something more. Something greater than fear, than anger, than vengeanece. You become a symbol, and symbols unlike frail 40 year old female scienist defending their chilrden from muggers Mr.Anon, are bulletproof.

Well...It was a plot for the later years of his career when he meets a retired Launchpad, and I didn't want to spoil it...but she's his mother. She's the new Darkwing's mother. She was quite bright as a child if you recall, and seeing as how Drake was already taking care of her, he hired her as a scientist when his company got off the ground, she worked for him, she sympathized with him as he grew old and senile and eventually she helped him quit the Darkwing Thing.

Also there are alot of references and hints in the names and the like. For example Draco's last name "Quackers" it's pulled from Gosalyn's superhero aliases Quiverwing Quack and Crimson Quackette. The decision to give him a more armored vigilante antihero theme, instead of feddora hat antics of Darkwing Duck comes from that one episode where Drake goes all grimdark himself upon losing Gosalyn and becoming Dark Warrior Duck.
